Matthew 14:13-21

  • Matthew 14:19 (NIV) 19 And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people.

Ever feel like you have so much to do with so little resources?  There are more tasks than time in the day.  There are more needs than the money can stretch.  The list goes on.  In the story, Jesus has five loaves and two fishes to feed at least 5000 people.  What he does not do is complain, instead he takes what He has and offers it up to the Father and THANKS him. One of the best ways to savor the season is to have a thankful attitude.  Maybe that is why we start the holiday season with Thanksgiving.  Keeping an attitude of thankfulness takes the focus off our circumstances and places it back on the God who gave us His son. In light of the coming of Christ to save us for our sins, long check-out lines, annoying family members, even the bigger things like finances and health disappear into the shadows. SAVORING
