ObservationThis is the third time in the first nine verses that it speaks to God being the one to establish our steps/plans/answers. Understanding1 To humans belong the plans of the heart, but from the Lord comes the proper answer of the tongue. 3 Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. 9 In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps. So…who’s in charge? It seems pretty clear that God wants us to know it’s Him – that He is the one that provides the answers to the questions we may have about what to do, that He will establish what we commit to Him and that He will determine the steps towards the course He created with us in mind. Life ApplicationThank you, God, for taking the guess work out. Thank you for reminding me that I was created with a purpose and plan in mind…and that I don’t have to go far to find it…but, rather, just ask the One who created me.
