John 14-9.28.22
Scripture
John 14:13-14
13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
Observation
Jesus talks about how He is the way to the father.
Understanding
I find it interesting that Jesus says he’s willing to do anything we ask of him if it glorifies the father. It reminds me of how I ended up getting my prayer language. I spent a ton of time praying to get it, not only because I wanted it but because it would also glorify my father and edify my spirit. I read this excerpt and I think about how I lost my manners trying to get my prayer language. I got greedy. It’s not a bad thing to be greedy like that. I saw something in the Bible that I wanted and I prayed for it and got it. Jesus says a few verses earlier that we can do everything he’s done and more. We just need to ask for it.
Life Application
Don’t be afraid to get greedy with God! It’s not selfish to ask for something you see in the Bible! You read a story about someone being raised from the dead, or healed. Pray to God and ask him for it! Lose your manners, get greedy and ask God for those things!
