Exodus 39

ScriptureExodus 39:32So all the work on the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, was completed.Observation - What does it say?Following all the detailed plans God had given them through Moses, they completed the project down to every last detail.Understanding - What does it mean? The Israelites set a great example by completing the work God had given them to do.That had to be such an amazing feeling for the Israelites. They gave of themselves and their resources, whatever it took, to complete the mission God had given them. They not only started strong but they finished strong.I long to complete the work God has given me, to not lose passion or heart but to be on fire for God and faithful to the end. It's so easy to start well but lose steam over time. It’s so easy to be mid-project and to get tired or discouraged or feel like the finish line is so far away. But like a marathon runner feeling the exhaustion and discomfort at mile 15, we have to look up, remember the finish line and keep going! It’s important we finish this race and complete the work God has given us to do.Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
When he looks at the works he prepared for me and how I lived my life, I long to hear the Master say, “Well done, good and faithful servant!” (Matthew 25:21)

Life ApplicationKeep the finish line in mind!

God, I don’t want us to be a people that just begins the work you’ve given us but who finishes it! Remind us of the bigger picture and help us to work hard at the mission you’ve given us. I pray for those reading this who feel tired or discouraged. Refresh them today and renew their vision and passion. Amen.
