Scripture 2 Peter 1:8-9 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9. But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind,forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.ObservationThe Apostle Peter a servant of God continues to encourage movement and growth to those who have been converted. 2 Peter 1:4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.2 Peter 1:5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.Understanding Do not be nearsighted. 2 Corinthians 4:18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.Look past what we see in the flesh. Look past what we see in our present. Look past what we see in our current trials, not to dismiss or deny what is before us but to look to the Glory that awaits us, to see the victory that has already been won!Remember what we lost! Sin, our old nature, fear, condemnation... We have been set free! Application Keep Moving Forward. We are not bound by our past. He has given the tools to be transformed into his nature. Everyday we can apply what He has instructed for us.Add to your faith goodness; To goodness, knowledge; To knowledge, self-control;To self-control, perseverance; To perseverance, godliness; To godliness, mutual affection; To mutual affection, LOVE.Holy Spirit, empower us to Keep Moving Forward in our faith. To move from our past, to walk away from the chains that bound us. Holy Spirit, open our eyes to see what is in the Spirit, the true reality, victory!
